‘Peace Doves’ project to launch soon
Addressing global challenges, in particular in the humanitarian and development community, requires a new way of working. At NRS Relief, we strongly embrace SDG 12, Responsible consumption and production, recognizing the need for sustainable business practices.
Supporting this objective, we’re working on a project that creatively and responsibly transforms production waste into Peace Doves, which will launch on World Peace Day on 21 September. We partnered with UK-based NGO Empathy Action to train female workers in our Pakistan factory to create dove-shaped toys from our refugee blanket and tarpaulin offcuts. This CSR-driven awareness campaign aims to spread ‘messages of peace’ and addresses critical issues such as the refugee crisis, sustainability and the private sector’s contribution to achieving a more peaceful society.
