NRS International shortlisted for the UPS International Disaster Relief Award for Nepal earthquake response

The award recognizes businesses that make a unique contribution to addressing international disasters and help communities to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters.
The UPS International Disaster Relief Award forms one of the 2016 Responsible Business Awards, which are organised by the charity Business in the Community and under the patronage of HRH The Prince of Wales. Over and above what is expected of a relief supplier
The judges commended the actions taken by NRS International following the Nepal earthquake, particularly for being the first relief supplier to travel to the country to identify emergency relief needs on the ground. They felt that the company went well over and above what would normally be expected from a commercial supplier. The response was considered to be an excellent example of an efficient, well-organised operation, achieved significant results in challenging circumstances.
Impressed by the speed and scale
The assessors were notably impressed by the speed and scale of the disaster relief response in Nepal, and the level of personal commitment demonstrated by the senior leadership and employees at all levels. NRS International was able to leverage its core business skills and capacities to deliver response and support partners on the ground.
Commenting on the high-profile recognition, Martina Aureli, Business Development & Sales Manager – Asia & Oceania, at NRS International, said:
“Being shortlisted for the UPS International Disaster Relief Award proves that a holistic approach, with our team working hand in hand with clients, stakeholders and beneficiaries on the ground, really does pay off. Such a response is just one example of how we instill a culture of innovation and corporate social responsibility throughout our company.”
NRS International will receive the prestigious award at BITC’s Annual Responsible Business Gala on 11 July at The O2 in London.
