NRS International’s charity and DIHAD support orphaned Syrian refugees through ‘Fly For Peace’ campaign
Exhibition will feature Syrian refugee children’s artworks reflecting their hopes for a peaceful future In a first-of-its-kind campaign in the Middle East, a ‘Fly For Peace’ exhibition will take place featuring orphaned refugees’ artworks that reflect their hopes for a peaceful future.
This initiative is hosted by Bilqees Sarwar Foundation, the charitable arm of Dubai-based humanitarian relief manufacturing company, NRS International, in partnership with the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition (DIHAD). The event goes in line with DIHAD’s 14th edition theme of ‘The Impact of Crisis and Disasters on Children.’
Making dreams fly through the #FlyForPeace concept
The Fly For Peace initiative is a kite-flying activity organised for 75 Syrian refugee children aged 8 to 12, who are living in an orphanage in Gaziantep, Turkey. It highlights the importance of education in emergencies and aims to promote the concept of peace through the refugee children’s creativity.
The children will decorate their own kites depicting their dreams for the future, before flying them together in a group activity.
Follow the orphaned refugees’ experiences on social media
NRS International will closely follow the refugee children’s experiences, capture their dreams, and document how they fly their kites.
On 6 March, a kite decoration workshop will be conducted by an NGO volunteer at the orphanage. This will be followed by a group kite-flying activity on 12 March, where the decorated kites will fly high for all to see. Help us raise awareness for education in emergency settings and support NRS International’s campaign on social media with the hashtag #FlyForPeace. To know more, click here.
